It's been awhile since I've posted a blog update...
I've been looking for a few new galleries to show my work. Selections of my work will now be available through the Blue Heron Gallery, in Elk Rapids in addition to the galleries that already carry my work. These will be on rotation, but will start with some images from the Beauty in Ruin series. I should also note that books have since sold out, and are presently only available through my website. There are a couple of galleries that are going to begin stocking these, updates to follow.
The weather is getting warmer (though not so much today), so it's almost time to switch gears from studio work, to environmental work. The following are the two projects that I will be focused on for the majority of the summer. I have a great group of models that I usually work with, however, I'm always looking for more diversity. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me. Additional information, including my terms for shooting, can be found on my website.
A "studio" project, featuring figure studies which are composed in a shallow pool of tinted water. The result are high contrast images that are naturally abstracted. This series will be shot on medium format film.
Classic environmental figure studies shot in and around the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. This series will be the topic of my next major exhibition as well as a book. This is a project that I've been working on for about three years already. Settings will be within the dunes, woods, historic ruins in the lakeshore, and various lakes and rivers in the area.
More to come...
